Special Guest

On occasion the Pilot House has special locals stop by to check out the live entertainment at the Glass Bottom Bartm.

It was nice to see both the momma and baby manatee.  Thanks to Fred for the great photo taken from his phone!

Pilot House Restaurant Supports Local Marine and
US Troops in Afghanistan

Key Largo, FL – November 5, 2010 – In an effort to show support for local Marines serving at a remote
Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Afghanistan this Christmas; Pilot House Restaurant/Marina and Glass
Bottom Bar™ (Pilot House) has put together a donation program for those who wish to donate food,
games, gifts or any care package items for our troops this holiday season. In addition to collecting items
throughout the Upper Keys, Pilot House has agreed to provide matching funds for additional gifts and to
cover all shipping costs.

According to Pilot House’s George Wilson “When we heard Coral Shores` graduate Nicole (Niki Brown)
Bricker, a US Marine Corp Sgt. was stationed at a FOB in Afghanistan and had volunteered to be
Santa for the entire FOB this holiday season, we wanted to show her and ‘her Marines’ how much we
appreciate them and their service to our country.” Sgt. Bricker will be handing out these gifts to all
Marines and Soldiers stationed at this FOB.

Don Brown, father of Nicole, said “ FOB’s are located in some of the most remote regions of
Afghanistan. The troops there live in tents, no running water, and electricity is scarce. Food is Meals
Ready to Eat (MRE’s) for months on end. While they taste great and are full of energy the menu doesn’t
vary much.” Items needed most are energy drinks, noodles, nuts, canned fruits, fun toys and games,
tall white socks, ethnic food and spices, local food items, crackers and any food that won’t spoil. “CDs,
DVDs, local newspapers, magazines and books are also desired” according to Brown.

For those who would like to donate care package items, they may be dropped off at Pilot House

Restaurant, MM 98.5 ocean side. Items should be dropped off no later than November 21 to be sure
they have time to get to the FOB before Christmas. If you like you may include a card with your personal
message and Sgt Bricker will make sure it is delivered along with your gift. Those with any questions may
contact Pilot House Marina at 305-393-3638.
